The dynamic, elegant form of Maserati’s exclusive and versatile four-seater convertible

When passion meets freedom, the outcome is inevitably unique. The Maserati GranTurismo Convertible launched a major new chapter in the history of Maserati as the marque’s first convertible to seat four in comfort. Inspired by the GranTurismo, the GranTurismo Convertible is dynamic and elegant—the perfect blend of practicality and passion.

A real Maserati convertible with a fabric soft-top

The most distinctive feature of the GranTurismo Convertible is its fabric soft-top, a highly sophisticated design that’s stylistically in keeping with Maserati tradition. Its construction and operation are technologically advanced—thanks to carefully selected materials, the soft-top and its operating system have no significant impact on the weight and handling dynamics of the car, despite the large area it covers and whether the top is up or down.

Not a coupé but a convertible

With the top raised, the classic C-pillar of the GranTurismo coupe—a signature of the design—is recreated by the elegant forward-sloping arc of the soft top on the GranTurismo Convertible. At the rear of the car, the triangular light assemblies comprising 96 LED lights and the optional large aerodynamic diffuser further emphasize its dynamic shape, enhanced by the 20-inch rims that recall the Maserati logo.

Change your point of view

With the top down, the Maserati GranTurismo Convertible has a stunning shape, at once powerful and graceful. The dynamic tension of the profile is accentuated by the short overhangs front and rear. Its long hood with Maserati’s signature "V" ridge reaches forward to the radiator grille in a muscular arc, creating a car with spectacular lines and, thanks to aerodynamic research, a shape that limits turbulence typically associated with convertible designs.

A masterpiece of style

The standard Chrome Line version of the Maserati GranTurismo Convertible features a number of chrome-plated details that enhance the lines and luminosity of the exterior. The exquisite unbroken line that defines the edge of the interior and incorporates the third brake light at the rear is accentuated in chrome, framing this stylistic masterpiece, which features chrome accents on the door handles and radiator grille.

A unique interior, ideal for sharing the thrill of open-top motoring

The unique spirit of the Maserati GranTurismo Convertible is apparent in the design of its interior: the fortunate driver and passengers enjoy an exclusive aura of refined elegance. The luxurious accommodations are a reflection of superb craftsmanship, combining racing style and supreme comfort. Importantly, the interior of the GranTurismo Convertible is far larger than other convertibles in its class, and offers outstanding comfort for four adults in true Maserati fashion.

A distinctive dashboard in the Maserati tradition

A central console that creates a comfortable space for all four occupants divides the interior longitudinally. The horizontal band of the dashboard features an ornamental “V” motif, a Maserati signature. The controls are within reach, giving the driver a sense of complete control. All critical functions are controlled from the driver’s side, with key multimedia commands replicated on the steering wheel.

Excellence you can feel

The tradition of hand craftsmanship that gives form and substance to the GranTurismo Convertible is nowhere more apparent than in the interior. Here, exquisite materials lend a look, feel, and even aroma second to none. The interior is richly upholstered in fine Italian premium leather, while a choice of trim—including various types of fine wood for the decorative features of the dashboard, the door and rear side panels—makes every interior a very special place.

The convertible that is a style statement, where details count

At the centre of the dashboard, the screen of the Maserati Multimedia System is placed high up for improved visibility. The attention to detail is also obvious in many other features: the thin chrome-plated ring around the dashboard and steering wheel buttons, the Trident logo hand-embossed on the seat headrests, the Alcantara® finish on the rear of the gearshift paddles and the exquisite stitching on the front and rear armrests.

The climate control system delivers maximum comfort with the top up or down

The climate control system has been fine-tuned to offer maximum environmental comfort whether the top is up or down; the system recognizes how the car is being used and automatically adjusts air output to maintain the temperature settings. Comfort level is also enhanced by the canvas soft top, composed of three layers for maximum thermal insulation and excellent soundproofing.

The heart and soul of the GranTurismo Convertible is a sophisticated 4.7-liter, 444 HP V8

The engine of the Maserati GranTurismo Convertible is a 4,691 cc 90 degree V8 , which can generate 444 HP at 7,000 rpm, and a maximum torque of 376 lb-ft at 4,750 rpm. Like all Maserati engines, it has been designed to deliver high specific power, smooth response, and low emissions with maximum fuel efficiency.

Quick, smooth gear shifts

The six-speed ZF fully automatic gearbox with hydraulic torque converter provides extremely smooth gear shifts, improving the ride without diminishing the responsive and powerful V8 engine. There are four operating modes: Auto Normal, Auto Sport, Auto ICE and Manual. In Manual mode, the gears are sequentially selected directly by the driver, using the gear lever or the steering wheel-mounted paddles.

In contact with the elements

The Maserati GranTurismo Convertible is designed to have near-ideal weight distribution, with a slightly greater load over the rear axle: 49% at the front and 51% at the rear with the top up; 48% at the front and 52% at the rear with the top down. This setting—obtained by moving the engine behind the front axle—maximizes traction and further improves the car’s predictable handling and stability.

"The rigidity of the chassis is outstanding, especially given the car’s size, and its wheelbase in particular"

Federico Landini, Maserati engineer

With the Skyhook system, the car’s setup adapts to your driving style

The car is equipped as standard with aluminum gas shock absorbers and the Skyhook electronic system for automatic, continuous control of shock absorber response. This solution instantly adapts the car’s setup to the driving style and road conditions, for the greatest possible comfort. In Sport mode, the suspension has a stiffer setting to reduce roll angles.

The MSP electronic system monitors the car’s stability at every moment

The car’s already excellent handling is monitored by the Maserati Stability Program (MSP) electronic stability control system, which addresses lateral skidding by reducing the engine torque. Incorporating the ABS and EBD, the system also prevents wheel lock during braking, while minimizing wheel spin during acceleration and locking of the drive wheels during down-shifts on low-grip road surfaces.

A personalization program for a tailor-made car

Maserati offers a personalization program that enables customers to tailor their car to their requirements with a wide variety of options and accessories. Offering this level of exclusivity is a source of pride for Maserati, which takes painstaking care with every car that bears the Trident.

Colour combinations: a palette for expressing your creativity

The GranTurismo Convertible can be further personalized with the fabric soft top, available in six colours, and an assortment of attractive colour options for the Italian premium leather interior.

Exterior chrome-plating or Shadow Line trim

The optional Shadow Line trim gives the GranTurismo Convertible a more aggressive look, with a number of items finished in black instead of chrome. These include the radiator grille vanes, the three signature air vents behind each front wheel, the exhaust tailpipes and the line that runs around the interior, while the front light assemblies receive a striking matte black finish.

Choice wood in the purest Italian automotive tradition

The mouldings of the dashboard, door panels and rear side panels are available in the new colours Dark Chrome, which combines anthracite grey with warm tones, or EcoChrome, a colour which evokes the glow of molten metal. Optionally, owners can choose from two lacquered colours, Blu Laque or Black Piano, or four luxury woods: Rosewood, Burr Walnut, Polished Wengé or Padouk.

Inside and out: details that make the difference

On a Maserati automobile, it is the details, however small, that combine to create the overall impression. Even the carpets can be customized. And when it comes to making a visual statement, brake callipers and wheels, available in a variety of styles and finishes, will personalize your GranTurismo Convertible to make it a car built just for you.

*Driving over rough or damaged road surfaces, as well as debris, curbs and other obstacles, can cause serious damage to wheels, tires and suspension parts. This is more like to occur with low-profile tires, which provide less cushioning between the wheel and the road. Be careful to avoid road hazards and reduce your speed, especially if your vehicle is equipped with low-profile tires.
