Maserati has always been famed for its innovative engine design: in this respect the new 3.8 litre twin turbo V8 installed on the Quattroporte sets new standards, with a long list of sophisticated solutions that make this the most high-tech propulsion unit ever installed on a Maserati car. With its 530 HP, it takes the Quattroporte past the 300 km/h threshold with ease.

In spite of the long wheelbase necessary for record-breaking comfort, the new Maserati Quattroporte still offers the outstanding handling typical of the brand’s cars. Thanks to the ideal weight distribution, with the right split between the front and rear axles, it is great fun to drive. What’s more, the new steering system has been developed to give the driver unrivalled “feel” of the car when cornering at speed.
The suspension features the latest evolution of the Sport Skyhook system
The suspension, double wishbone with aluminium arms at the front and five-arm multilink at the rear, is controlled by the latest version of the Sport Skyhook electronic system, with new shocks featuring continuous damping variation. Pressing the button on the central tunnel switches to a more rigid damper setting, limiting load transfers when driving with a sportier style.
The 8-speed automatic transmission allows even quicker gear shifts
The new eight-speed ZF automatic gearbox with auto-adaptive software is lighter and more efficient than the previous generation and allows even faster gear shifts. The last two speeds are specially developed to reduce fuel consumption and increase comfort during long journeys at high speed. There are five operating modes: Auto Normal, Auto Sport, Manual Normal, Manual Sport and the new I.C.E. (Increased Control Efficiency).
The brakes have been developed to guarantee performance and quiet operation
The new Quattroporte’s Brembo brake system has impressive new features, designed to deliver quieter operation without reducing performance. The monobloc calipers, with 6 pistons at the front and 4 at the rear, act on ventilated, slotted discs of 380x34 mm and 350x28 mm respectively, dual-cast to combine the properties of iron with the light weight of aluminium.
