Unique details and elegant lines give form to passion

The beauty of the Maserati GranTurismo Convertible Sport strikes the heart. Aggressive lines, embellished by subtle details, impart this convertible with a powerful and sporting character. It is a natural evolution, in true Maserati tradition, of the marque’s first open-top four-seater—the remarkable GranTurismo Convertible.

Red accents define the most powerful Maseratis

The design of the front end of the Maserati GranTurismo Convertible Sport features two sinuous air intakes that run from the central spoiler toward the aggressive front headlight assembly, featuring LED Daytime Running Lights. The famous Maserati radiator grille has black vertical fillets, while the usual Trident at the center sports red details, a finishing touch used only on the most powerful models in the Maserati range.

Aerodynamics help to define the style

The Maserati GranTurismo Convertible Sport is designed with elegant and effective lower rocker panels—sideskirts—that feature a more pronounced shape to emphasize its dynamic profile. As well as their stylistic role, these additions (available in black) play an important role in aerodynamic efficiency. Combined with the sinuous shape of the fenders, they ensure optimal airflow toward the rear wheels, an example of form serving function.

Trimmed in black for a powerful appearance

Its black tailpipes emphasize the power of the Maserati GranTurismo Convertible Sport. Oval in shape and available in carbon fiber on request, they lend an unmistakable signature to the rear of the car. Black in finish, the Shadow Line trim is also used on the line that runs around the edge of the interior trim. The burnished finish on the rear light assemblies is a further distinguishing feature of this sporting Maserati.

Rosso Trionfale, a Maserati signature color

With every detail designed to express power and speed, the GranTurismo Convertible Sport is available in a color that underscores its personality: Rosso Trionfale, inspired by the national colors used by Maserati racing cars in the 1950s. The addition of the large 20-inch Astro Design rims gives the car an even more aggressive, dynamic character.

Four adults enjoy a luxurious interior

The GranTurismo Convertible Sport is a true four-seater, allowing all four occupants to enjoy the pleasure of open-top travel. The sumptuous Italian leather is available in an assortment of colors, and covers an interior rich in detail and exquisite trim. The central section of the M-design seats, whose stitching is inspired by the sleek curves of the Maserati radiator grille, are refined details that cannot fail to impress.

Trident logo on the headrests of comfortable sport seats

The front seats of the Maserati GranTurismo Convertible Sport have an electric lumbar support adjustment system and can be equipped with the optional comfort package, which includes seat-position memory and heating with three temperature settings. The embroidered Trident logo on the headrests reminds one that fine craftsmanship is the hallmark of every Maserati automobile. Two individual rear seats, contoured like those at the front, provide rear seat legroom that is the most spacious in its class in a luxurious and comfortable environment.

Exquisite brushed aluminium trim for added exclusivity

With its Dark Chrome grey finish, the dashboard trim adds to the bold and luxurious look of this exclusive interior, while distinctive brushed aluminium door sills are proudly adorned with the Maserati name. The wide choice of carpets complements the many available colors of luxurious leather.

A superb feel with the sport steering wheel and longer gearshift paddles

Behind the ergonomic, three-spoke steering wheel, the gearshift paddles of the Maserati GranTurismo Convertible Sport feature the Trofeo Design. Integrated with the steering column, they are longer than usual to ensure smooth functioning even on tight curves, with the steering wheel at any angle. The leather-covered steering wheel is available with optional wood or carbon-fiber rim inserts for extra sporting flair.

Sporty aluminium pedals for accelerating and braking

Both the brake and accelerator pedals are key to performance and safety; the lighter pedals on the Maserati GranTurismo Convertible Sport are in perforated aluminium, designed to meet the needs of a sport-oriented driving style. The instrument panel has been designed according to the same principle. Perfectly visible in all conditions, it features a new digital rev counter in the center to indicate the ideal time to shift gears.

An innovation-driven V8 that delivers high-tech thrills

The famous Maserati 4.7-litre V8 engine that powers the GranTurismo Convertible Sport delivers 454 HP at 7,000 rpm, with a peak torque of 384 lb/ft, thanks to a number of innovative engineering solutions that optimize performance. One example is the reduction of friction, through the use of DLC (Diamond-Like Coating) for the tappets and camshaft lobes.

Five gearshift modes

The gearbox offers a choice of five operating modes: Normal, Auto Sport, Manual Normal, Manual Sport and I.C.E. The exclusive MC Auto Shift function included in the transmission control software makes the Maserati GranTurismo Convertible Sport even more exciting to drive in a number of ways. For example, it includes electronic double declutching during downshifting and the MC Start Strategy high-performance start function that enables the car to accelerate from zero-to-60 mph in just 4.9 seconds (zero-to-100 km/h in 5 seconds).

It was designed with important innovations to reduce friction, such as the use of DLC (Diamond-Like Coating) for the tappets and camshaft lobes.

A specific suspension setup

The outstanding ride and handling of the GranTurismo Convertible Sport is achieved thanks to a series of special design features, such as the Sport Skyhook suspension that features aluminium dampers with continual variation of the damping effect. When the driver presses the Sport key on the dashboard, the car’s character is transformed to a more aggressive suspension setup, specially developed for this model and intended to improve road-holding and handling dynamics.

A braking system that offers even better performance

The Brembo braking system used on the Maserati GranTurismo Convertible Sport uses large discs, each machined with four slots and 16 blind holes around the perimeter. The slots keep the brake pads clean, preventing the loss of efficiency due to dust, and help to break up the flow of water over the surface, while the extra holes ensure uniform wear of the pads and disc to prevent the deterioration of performance over time.

The MSP stability control features specific, sportier setups

The Maserati Stability Program electronic control system features special setups for the GranTurismo Convertible Sport designed for sport-oriented driving with maximum safety. When the Sport button is pressed, the MSP intervenes with even more discretion: the trigger threshold is shifted upward and the system acts mainly on the brakes, without cutting engine power.

A unique personalization program for your individual style

The interior of the Maserati GranTurismo Convertible Sport is about feeling at home. Here, the skilled hands of craftsmen employ choice materials, meticulous finishes and finest Italian Premium leather. The result is an automobile of rare elegance and style, as unique and individual as every owner of a Maserati.

Inside the Maserati GranTurismo Convertible Sport, even the smallest details can be customized: the choice of colors of the leather upholstery, carpets, edge trims, stitching and seatbelts. The moldings are supplied as standard in Dark Chrome, which combines anthracite grey with warm tones, or EcoChrome, evoking the glow of molten metal, and are also available in fine woods or sophisticated varnished shades on request.

The exclusive MC Sport Line personalization packages for the Maserati GranTurismo Convertible Sport are designed to give the car a truly sporting air through an assortment of carbon fiber options. The packages include both aesthetic details and functional accessories: in both cases, these features reflect the performance edge of Maserati Corse.

Wide range of bodywork and soft-top colors

As well as the wide range of shades available for the exterior, including Rosso Trionfale and Blu Sofisticato, the soft-top fabric also comes in a choice of six colors: black, dark blue, burgundy (an elegant Bordeaux), chocolate, titanium grey and java. Inside, the soft-top headliner comes in three colors: black, beige and beluga grey. Another exterior detail that can be customized is the internal finish of the front light assemblies, available in matte black on request.

The Chrome Line as an alternative to the Shadow Line, for more elegant bodywork

An alternative to the standard Shadow Line version fitted to the Maserati GranTurismo Convertible Sport is the optional Chrome Line version, which features the use of black to enhance the car’s sporty feel. This offers the elegance of chrome trim, including the radiator grille fillets, the three air vents behind the front wheels, the door handles, the tailpipes and the distinctive line running around the interior. Completing this package, a matte grey finish is used for the insides of the front headlight assemblies.

*Driving over rough or damaged road surfaces, as well as debris, curbs and other obstacles, can cause serious damage to wheels, tires and suspension parts. This is more like to occur with low-profile tires, which provide less cushioning between the wheel and the road. Be careful to avoid road hazards and reduce your speed, especially if your vehicle is equipped with low-profile tires.
